In the heart of the Kakheti Region in Eastern Georgia, the Lopota Lake Resort and Spa has recently introduced a jazz club designed by local Georgian architecture firm David Koiava of Design Avenue. Celebrating the Caucasus Mountains and Georgia's heritage with a first-of-its-kind jazz venue, the concept stands out from the underground jazz scene typically found in the country.

Situated against the background of dramatic mountains, the stand-alone building features a rounded concrete and stone exterior with evenly spaced large wooden beams surrounding a low-lit open-air atrium. Between the thick beams are trees, which reference the region's natural heritage and proximity to nature.

Inside the club, visitors are greeted by freestanding tables spread between a raised stage on one side and an elegant bar with glossy black countertops on the other. On the far side of the room, cozy booth seating is situated above the bar, offering a second level for guests to indulge in a bird' s-eye view of the stage and setting.

A warm and moody colour palette sets the tone alongside Pierre Frey fabrics and atmospheric lighting chosen to reflect the jazz ambiance. The bar's exquisite copper pendant lamp and key furniture pieces from brands Pianca, Pedrali, and Farm Living accent the space.

Guided by the expertise of Finnish world-leader in acoustic engineering Akukon, every aspect of the club, from its construction to the choice of equipment and their placement, adheres to the aerodynamic laws of acoustics. This meticulous attention to detail ensures a sensory experience of pristine sound quality, enhancing the ambiance of the jazz club.

With the club's emphasis on sustainable luxury, architecture, and cultural enrichment, it symbolizes the resort's transformation from a small family-run hotel to a world-class destination.
